Not many people will be around, you can enjoy an amazing view and take nice pictures as well.
If you want to organize something nice as well, you can pre-book tickets to go up to the Eiffel Tower and enjoy the amazing view over Paris. We always recommend to do it in advance as the Eiffel Tower is always busy as is the main attraction in Paris. While you are staying in Paris for short, purchase a skip the queue tickets is highly suggested.
Trocadero – Places to visit in Paris near Eiffel Tower
Following the gardens from the Eiffel Tower, the Trocadero is the most known viewpoint where you can admire the beauty of the Eiffel Monument. We have been to Trocadero in the early morning to be able to enjoy the lovely view of the Eiffel Tower and ready to take some nice shot.
The Trocadero is one of the places to visit in Paris near Eiffel Tower and you can’t miss it to go there. The terrace of the Trocadero is always crowded, but in the early morning, you will find just people posing, looking for the best like and the instagrammable shot. The nearest metro stop is Trocadero, easy!
Arc de Triomphe – Places to visit in Paris in 2 days
How to reach the Arc de Triomphe?
By tube is very easy as there are three lines, 1, 2 and 6 that reach Charles de Gaulle Etoile. By bus lines 30, 31, 22, 92, 72 and 73. We suggest walking as well if the weather is nice the walk will be more enjoyable. Opening hours and prices: The full tickets are 12 euro and the Arc opens from 10 am until 11 pm and in wintertime, it closes at 10.30 pm
Remember from November to March the first Sunday of the month the access is free.
Sacre-Coeur – 2 days in Paris
This beautiful basilica is located at the summit of Montmartre hill which is the highest summit in the city. As you would imagine there is an excellent view from up this hill. It is considered the most iconic attraction in the city and you can’t miss it during your 2 days in Paris. The area which is located Sacre Coeus is Montmartre and it has been popular with artists of the Belle Époque.
If you want to enjoy better the Basilica and get some great pictures of Paris, we suggest being there in the early morning to avoid any crowds and people who give you free bracelets expecting money in exchange. Montmartre is full of clothes boutique, cafè and restaurants.
How to reach Sacre Coeur?
The easiest way we found was by bus, line 80, 85, 30 and 31. The bus will leave you at the foot of Montmartre.
Saint Chapelle – 2 days in Paris itinerary
Another monument to visit during your 2 days in Paris itinerary is Saint Chapelle which is a gem of the Gothic style.
This chapel is not very large, and you should be able to visit it in an hour and it is a must-see during your 2 days in Paris. The Chapelle normally opens at 9 am and we recommend you to get there when it opens to avoid long queues. The tickets are 10 euro and remember the last admission is 30 minutes before closing. During summertime, which is from April to September opens at 9 am at closes at 7 pm. During winter the opening time is always the same but it closes at 5 pm.
How to visit Saint Chapelle?
You can reach the Sain Chapelle by tube with line 4 and getting off at the station Cité or by bus with line 38, 85, 96, 21 and 27. What was the best option for us? Walking. We always prefer to explore the city by walk.
Situated on the opposite riverside of the Louvre, the Musee d’Orsay is one of the places to visit in Paris in 2 days. The museum entrance is 14 euro or if you are visiting Paris at the beginning of the month remember the first Sunday of the month is free. With the Paris Pass, it is included and not expensive.
If you love art and architecture you are in the right place. The inside of the museum is stunning itself and the works of famous artists such as Monet, Van Gogh and Cezanne make the museum worth visiting.
The easiest and most beautiful way to reach the Musee d’Orsay is by walking from the Louvre, crossing Pont Royal and arriving at the museum. While crossing the Pont Royal spend a couple of minutes admiring the beautiful view which surrounds you.
Day 2 – Paris itineraries
River Seine Cruise
One of the things to do in Paris in 2 days is taking a Seine River Cruise which allows you to see the Parisian sight from a different perspective. To enjoy this lovely tour is not expensive at all, for one hour Seine river cruise is 15 euro. It’s a different experience which we recommend to do.
The best time to do it is during the sunset as the colours of the city would be wonderful and perfect to photograph as well. Le Louvre – What to do in Paris for 2 days
In your two days in Paris itinerary, another must-see is the Louvre of course as is considered the largest and most important monument in Paris. It is known for Leonardo’s masterpiece the Gioconda. The Museum is always busy at any hours so if you didn’t book your ticket in advance be ready to wait a bit.
If purchasing your ticket online, the cost will be 17 euro and you have the access guarantee. Like the Orsay Museum, the Louvre as well it is free the first Sunday of the month. On the first Saturday of each month, the museum is also open from 6 pm to 9.45 pm and the admission is free.
How to visit Le Louvre Museum?
By tube, there are two lines reaching the Museum, line 1 and 7 and you can get off to Palais Royal – Musee du Louvre.
Best time to visit the Museum? First thing in the morning.
Notre Dame – Cool places to visit in Paris
Another important sightseeing of the city and one of the cool places to visit in Paris is Notre Dame Cathedral. It is a medieval Catholic cathedral with gothic architecture located in the Latin Quarter of Paris.
Today is temporarily closed after the fire which took place in 2019, just partially open and raising money to rebuild the destroyed part.

Located in the Montmartre area, Dali Museum is the only place in France dedicated to Salvador Dali. For fans of the artist, who was a part of the Surrealism group, this museum is the happy place. This museum can easily be skipped if you are not interested or you are not a fan of the artist.
The full price of the ticket is 12 euro and 9 euro if you are from 8 to 26 years old. Remember to bring your ID to prove you are between 8 to 26. If you are skipping the Dali Museum during your two days in Paris you can visit the Palais Garnier instead.

An alternative thing to do in Paris in 2 days is to visit the spectacular building of Palais Garnier. You can book a tour which will give you full access to many parts of this stunning building such as the gorgeous staircase, perfect for taking pictures. The tour will take 1 hour and a half and the tickets during the non-exhibitions period is 14 euros. You can book the tickets online or at the Palais Garnier ticket desk. As we said, the inside of the building is gorgeous and it is worth to visit during your two days in Paris itinerary.

Getting around Paris
Getting around Paris is really easy. As you might be understood we love to walk and we always recommend to walk instead of taking public transport. The city transport system is well connected, making it easy to get around Paris efficiently.
The metro transport in Paris is efficient, you will love to get in some still old fashioned carriage and bohemiè locations. With your visit Paris Pass, you will get full access to public transport and the most important attractions, which will save you money and time.
Paris airports and how to reach them
Paris has two airports. Charles de Gaulle and Orly. To get from Charles de Gaulle airport to Paris city centre the cheapest and easiest transfer is taking the regional RER train. It takes less than an hour to reach the centre and it costs 10 euro. By bus, you can use Le Bus Direct from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Paris Gare du Nord and the price is around 15 euro.
There are no direct train lines from Orly airport to the city centre of Paris. You will need to take the Orlyvalmetro to the Anthony Train Station and then change to lines RER B or RER C. The total journey will cost around 12 euros and will take around 60 minutes.
Travel Tips for your Paris itinerary 2 days
Paris is a lovely city and we have been a couple of times already. We didn’t feel really safe while strolling around the city centre, especially around the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero.
Avoid Paris common scams especially around this area and carry with you what you really need and leave home the extras valuable stuff.
Carry always with you at least one bottle of water as during summertime Paris is really hot. Be environment friendly and carry just reusable bottles.
Day trips from Paris
Paris is well connected with the rest of France with high-speed trains you can reach many destinations. Our favourite destination for day trips from Paris was Lyon and Nice.
Lyon was cheaper with a bus as we paid only 10 euro per person each way with OuiBus even if the journey took 6 hours. If you consider using the train to reach Lyon plan it in advance and you will find a good deal for only 2 hours journey.
Consider a French Riviera day trip from Paris
If you are considering Nice as a day trips from Paris be ready to afford a long day. We did it by train and it took 6 hours. It was a kind of Milan to Naples journey, very long. When we went to Nice it was in January and we were lucky to find a really cheap offer with the train. We spent 40 euro to go and came back both of us. Our advice: At the moment you book your flight tickets to go to Paris, organise and book the day trips from Paris if you want to explore a bit more of France. You will be happy to find bargains and visit the French Riviera on a budget.
Day trip from Paris to Disneyland
Did you know that there is a direct train from Paris city centre to Marne-la-Vallée Chessy? This station is located just outside Disneyland Paris gates. The direct train is RER A and the journey will take around 45 minutes. You can buy the tickets from any ticket office or from the ticket machine which you will find at the station. For adults, one way the cost will be 15 euros and for a child 7 euros.

You need to book the tickets in advance and the price can vary on how many days you want to spend in the park. If you want to see the Park and the Studios as well you will need 2 days plus the Fast Track Pass so you will be able to jump the queue.

If you ever never been to Paris be ready to fall in love with this city or not. As they say or you love Paris or you hate it. There is always something you won’t like in all the cities, like the scams in Paris. But, don’t let anyone ruin your 2 days in Paris holidays. We personally loved and hated it, but we are willing to be back, visit more and get lost in the narrow streets, rich in history and amazing architecture.
If you are short on time, Paris in one day is still worth. You will be not able to see everything, but a few steps up to the Trocadero with the amazing window on the Tour Eiffel will pay alone the airfare ticket.
