It was a grey morning when we landed in Dublin, and our first impression was not that great. We felt like we never left London, but this feeling changed after a couple of hours when the city actually woke up. Dublin is a great city with many things to offer and to see. This city will surprise you, from the typical pubs branded by Guinness to delicious Bagels for breakfast to the best photo spots in Dublin. So pack your bags and your camera, and let’s discover all the most instagrammable places in Dublin.

From Dublin airport to city centre

From the Airport | It is easy to go from Dublin airport to the city centre. There is a bus running 24 hours as express service and it costs 5 euros purchased in advance or 6 euros at the bus stop. There is also a cheaper alternative, which costs 1,60 euros and is using the bus network. Check the timetable for Route 16 and Route 41.

St. Stephen’s Green Park

Samuel Beckett Bridge

Considered one of the most famous landmarks in Europe, Samuel Beckett Bridge is for sure another unique and most instagrammable place in Dublin. 

If you like landscape and night photography, this is the right spot for you. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, Beckett Bridge is undoubtedly one of the prettiest crossings in the city of Dublin. The iconic design is a Celtic harp which is the symbol that is associated with Ireland. (You might recall this symbol when travelling with Ryanair and the famous Guinness Beer). 

Temple Bar

Dublin is well known for many things, and one of the most popular places you need to visit is Temple Bar. Thanks to its colours, decorations and purple and red flowers, you can snap a couple of nice pictures. As it is considered one of the best photo spots in Dublin, we suggest being there super early in the morning. It is famous among tourists and locals, and on Friday night, the atmosphere is vibrant and, in some ways, crazy. We landed in Dublin around 7 AM, and after checking into our accommodation, we went out straight away. On a Saturday at 10 AM, the streets were empty and perfect for us!

Love Lane in Temple Bar | Hidden gems in Dublin

Ha’Penny Bridge

Dublin has a marvellous castle, right in the centre of the city. How cool is that? Dublin Castle is for sure one of the best photo spots in Dublin where you can shoot excellent pictures, especially if the weather is nice. This sizeable Irish complex is one of the most famous landmarks in Europe, and it is more than 800 years old, which is magnificent.

Dublin is an energetic city, especially at night. The best area to discover for the good Irish vibes is Temple bar. Dublin’s old town road is full of picturesque taverns, pubs, and clubs. From 6 pm every day of the week, crowds take over the streets, jamming every lane. We also loved Dublin at first sight because of its atmosphere and took our camera out while exploring Dublin at night on the weekend. St. Patrick Cathedral

Considered one of the most instagrammable places in Dublin, St. Patrick’s Cathedral was the first thing we saw when we arrived in Dublin. We were looking for a coffee shop to grab some breakfast, and without even noticing it, we were standing in front of this incredible cathedral. The entire structure is photogenic; the only thing you need to do is be yourself and create pictures with this stunning cathedral.

If you’re visiting Dublin in spring, you will love St. Patrick Cathedral even if you move. Thanks to its colourful spring flowers, this will be one of the best photo spots in Dublin. Nonetheless, it was built in 1220; nowadays, this cathedral still has its charm, which is why, from any angle, you will find a perfect shot.

Christ Church Cathedral

Just by looking from the outside, you will remain speechless. Still, you will have no words to describe how stunning it is from the moment you step inside Christ Church Cathedral. The mediaeval cathedral is not only an incredible masterpiece with a gothic/romanesque style, but it is also for sure one of the most beautiful photo spots in Dublin.

Known as the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, this place is believed to be one of the most photogenic places in the city. If you’re spending spring in Dublin, this place will be even more magical thanks to its yellow and purple flowers decorating the surroundings.

Trinity College Library

Trinity College Library was a real surprise as we didn’t expect it to be one of the most incredible places ever. This library belongs to the University of Dublin and dates back to 1592 and is for sure one of the best photo spots in the city. Trinity College Library is a legal depository where publishers in Ireland must deposit a copy of all their publications.

The best place to take unique photos is the Long Room, as you will be able to capture all the books in the background. So if you love playing with the perspective and lights, this is the right place for you. For sure, it is a unique photo spot in Dublin as no one would think that inside this library, there is more than just books. Today the Long Room is one of the most photographed places, thanks to its dark oak walls and bookcases.

Phoenix Park | The Bambi Park 

Considered not only one of the most instagrammable places in Dublin but also an incredible spot where you relax a bit and enjoy a bit of rest before heading to the following location. 

As Londoners, we are used to hanging out in the park with our friends so we couldn’t miss visiting this one in Dublin. Located in the city centre’s heart is the largest public park you will find in the city. If you love nature, deers and taking pictures, this is the right place. 

You can either walk around the park or rent a bike and explore all of Phoenix park’s beautiful things. From the Dublin zoo, castles and Victorian tearoom, you can find almost anything you’re looking for in this park. So are you ready to get your best photo spots in Dublin? Poolbeg Lighthouse

This photogenic place is considered one of the most instagrammable places in Dublin. Completely different from the other photo spots mentioned above as this one is away from the city centre. This spot is perfect if you want to catch some sea air. Located at the end of the Great South Wall, this bright red lighthouse is one of the best photo spots in Dublin. To reach the Poolbeg lighthouse, you need to go out and get to the outer part of the port side of Dublin.

Sea lovers, this is the place for you. Yes, you can reach Poolbeg Lighthouse by walking; it’s considered one of the best walks in Dublin. If you’re starting from Pigeon House Road Car Park, the walk can take 40 minutes up to an hour. For us, it took more as we were stopping now and then to take pictures. I mean, we love photography and can’t really say no to a great shot.

Dame Tavern

Dame Tavern is another popular and best photo spot in Dublin with its bright red facade. If you want to capture a great picture, we suggest you visit this place early in the morning; otherwise, you won’t be able to take any pictures. Considered a popular and famous place in Dublin, Dame Tavern can be busy if you pick the wrong time to visit. I mean, you can always pop inside and grab a Guinness or two.

Skyview Tower

Right at the back of the Jameson Whiskey Distillery is the Generator hostel, where we stayed a couple of nights. (Check the availability for this affordable and lively hostel)

At the entrance of the famous hostel, there is the Skyview Tower, which is built on top of an old Chimney overseeing the whole of Dublin. The Skyview Tower is one of the highest points of the Irish Capital and definitely one of the best Instagram spots in Dublin.

Copper + Straw

The minimal style and the delicious pastries of Copper and Straw are ideal for an early morning chasing the best photo spots in Dublin. Undoubtedly, while exploring new cities we always look for the latest instagrammable cafe, the same was for Dublin.

Copper and Straw is at 1 Arran Quay, a few steps away from Brazen Head. You can’t miss seeing this spot when arriving in the city centre from Dublin airport, stopping at Merchant Quay.

Early in the morning, until 11 am you can taste the delicious pastries and perfect coffee. It was important for me to get the perfect start, while in Dublin for an annual travel blogging conference.

Jameson had the ambition to create unforgettable experiences, which is the focus of his entire project. We have to confirm that he succeeded in his lifetime goal, and today you can taste a bit of the process at the local Jameson Whiskey Distillery.

The location is outside the city centre, but near a newly refurbished district. We stayed at the Generator hostel and went for a tour with Whiskey tasting. The experience is excellent, and the Distillery room entrance is perfect for a few photos.

Cliffs of Moher and Galway Full-Day Trip

Are you looking to plan a day trip from Dublin? Cliffs of Moher and Galway could be an excellent alternative. Galway is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Ireland and a day trip is highly recommended. Stroll around the gorgeous city centre, admire the colourful house, walk through the city’s cobblestone alleys and enjoy the typical Irish atmosphere. Together with Galway, you need to discover the Cliffs of Moher, a UNESCO Heritage Site.

Where to stay in Dublin

We stayed in Dublin two different times, as a couple once for two days and Toti remained as a solo traveller in a hostel for the other two nights in Dublin.

Both experiences went very well with different accommodations. As a couple, we stayed in the StayCity Aparthotel and as a solo, Toti had a reservation in a four bunk bed at the Generator Hostel.
