Brighton is a city that truly comes to life in the summer. Its endearing coastal location is perfect for soaking up the sun and enjoying the warm weather. But even when it’s raining, the romantic atmosphere of Brighton is undeniable, and there are plenty of things to do to keep you entertained.
Best time to visit Brighton
Brighton, a vibrant coastal city situated in England, offers a variety of experiences depending on the season. The climate generally remains moderate throughout the year. Visiting Brighton in winter you will experience brisk winds, which might causing temperatures to hover between 3°C to 5°C. As spring arrives, the temperatures gradually rise, averaging between 10°C to 15°C. Nevertheless, the best time to visit Brighton is in summer, during July and August, when the daytime temperature soars to a delightful 25°C.
If you are looking for sunny escape to the seaside, I highly recommend planning your trip to Brighton in May or June. These months boast minimal rainfall and fewer crowds, as they fall just before the peak tourist season. Moreover, you can relish longer daylight hours, granting ample time to explore the captivating attractions of Brighton, particularly around June 20th, when the city experiences its longest day each year.
Despite November being the rainiest month and December often displaying chilly temperatures, they still offer a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the enchanting Christmas ambiance. We thoroughly enjoyed our time during this period and, to be frank, found pleasure in dashing through the rain.

There are many ways to reach Brighton from London for a relaxing day trip on the Coast of the United Kingdom. Take your train with Thameslink from St. Pancras, Farringdon, Blackfriars and London Bridge. You can reach Brighton from London, even from London Victoria and London Bridge. The last one was closer to our house, so we enjoyed it so much, taking the Southern Railway Train. Keep an eye on the last train offers from London to Brighton.
London to Brighton by train
To save time most of people prefer travelling from London to Brighton with the train. The journey by train will take less than 2 hours, leaving from London city centre like Victoria Station and reaching Brighton train station. Train tickets can variate if you book them during off-peak time. Remember to check out train times and prices on The Train Line app or website, so you can get the best price. Try to avoid peak time as a lot of people commute in and out of Brighton and it makes train tickets more expensive.

Is easy to get from London to Brighton in just an hour’s drive. The A23 will take you directly to Brighton, passing by Gatwick Airport. However, we highly suggest you choose an alternative way to reach Brighton from London, because of the expensive parking.
We did it once and will assure you that the ride was amazing, but the parking price made us think it was worth it by train. However, if you still want to go to Brighton by car, we can assure you that the journey is fantastic. If you don’t own a car, it is easy to rent it in London, but book in advance. We have been to Brighton for the day many and many times. We found it very easy to organise London day trips to Brighton. If you are planning a Brighton one day itinerary, try to avoid weekends or any bank holidays as the city will be busy and so train too.
Start the day early to ensure you have enough time to explore Brighton without missing anything. Bring with you some snacks during the journey as you will need them. Don’t spend too much time thinking about where to eat; grab something quickly but good. If you are spending more than one day, we have a few suggestions for you. We had a really lovely dinner at “NuPost” with delicious Italian food.
Sea breeze one hour away from London
One of the best reason why we love so much our day trips from London to Brighton is that just one hour away from the city chaos, there is the sun, sea and beach. Brighton is a really cute city on the coast of Uk, facing the French coast. It is one of the best cities in England and is perfect even if you are visiting London for a few days.
Of course, there is not always the sun in the sky of Brighton, it is always cloudy and plenty of rainy day in Brighton, but the summer… The summer’s day in Brighton is the best escape from your routine in London.
Brighton is not that big, so is the perfect day escape from the city, walkable and with the same amenities you have in London. There are many unique things to do in Brighton, that will make you feel to be in the right place for a day. The seaside English town is full of accommodation for your stay overnight in Brighton. Evening (5:00 PM onwards)

Experience one of the best Brighton views on the top of the British Airways i360
This structure is quite new in Brighton as it was opened in the summer of 2016. It gives you a gorgeous view of the ocean and the coastline. If you want to enjoy the lovely view from the top of Brighton you can pre-book the tickets online.
The 162-metre observation tower, owned by British Airway, the leader in the flight’s sector has changed the skyline of Brighton and the seafront of the former West Pier. There is also the chance to drink a glass of wine while chatting and getting up into the sky of Brighton. This is for us a special romantic thing to do in Brighton.

Let’s say that Brighton is the easiest way for Londoners to escape the heat in the city in summer. So on your Brighton day trip, you can’t miss a quick stop at Brighton Beach. True, it isn’t the best beach in the UK, but at least it is something. It’s a massive beach with a very long promenade that goes all the way to the town nearby, which is Hove.
Especially when the weather is nice and warm, you will find many people around enjoying the sun. These characteristics make Brighton one of the most popular beach destinations nearby London. This is a pebble beach, so remember your swim shoes. If you are not fancy for crowded places, 2km away walking down there in Hove. This is another fantastic beach, less busy than Brighton, with nice spots as well.
On a rainy day in Brighton, you can still enjoy the beach, drink at the promenade’s close bar and see how impressive the landscape is at sunset. We enjoyed the lights going down, with the view of the remains of a run-down building not so far from the coast.
