Parking at Diamond Beach and paying for entrance and moped spot, you can easily access the main gorgeous shoreline late in the afternoon at Atuh Beach. If you do it the other way around, parking near the descent to Atuh beach, you might get up and down and only save about 15K IDR, a few bucks.

Also, consider visiting Thousand Island Viewpoint, just a two-minute drive from the Diamond Beach parking lot.

How to get to Diamond Beach from Bali

To make the journey to Diamond Beach on Nusa Penida easier, it’s best to hire a local driver, as the roads have loose gravel and potholes. Even though more adventurous travellers (Us, indeed) can get there driving a moped or motorbike. Honestly, it was hard even if I was confident with the bike, as tour drivers go quite fast on narrow roads.

By the way, to get to Diamond Beach from Bali, you must take the direct ferry from Sanur Port, and within 45 minutes, you will be on the coast of Nusa Penida. It will take 45 minutes to one hour from the island Harbour, depending on traffic, to reach the destination.

Overall our experience at Diamond Beach was great, we arrived there with relatively fewer people, even though it wasn’t early in the morning. Yes, we got a bit lazy for once. Most of the people watch the beach from the top, as it is quite hard to get down the staircase. However, on the shoreline is a paradise. There is a little bar that serves fresh coconut, few snacks and if lucky a nasi goreng for a few bucks. Of course as the popularity increases the prices skyrocket, but is still manageable for a sight of this beauty.

Yes, Diamond beach is worth visiting as it is one of the most beautiful shorelines of the whole Bali. To be honest the gorgeous landscape is even better when you watch it than in photos. The way down the shoreline will take even longer because you will be taking photos at every turn. While exploring Nusa Penida you can’t miss visiting Diamond Beach. We recommend visiting Diamond Beach only during low tide due to the rough and potentially dangerous waves. The beach is quite open, and even if Diamond-shaped rocks are breaking the waves, the current is so strong.

Swimming at Diamond Beach

It is possible to swim at Diamond Beach, however, as said above the waves are strong and there are a lot of rocks on the seabed. Also, consider that the waves contain corals and rocks, which in case of strong current might be dangerous.
