Hundertwasserhaus

As you might understand we quite love Vienna, mostly because of the charming style of the buildings. Hundertwasserhaus is one of the most stunning structures in Vienna, and also quite quirky to be honest. The style is completely opposite compared to Vienna Innere Stadt, but still fascinating.

The multicolour facades, with multilayers, as well give charm to the buildings in this area. located in the Landstraße district on the corner of Kegelgasse and Löwengasse, it is today one of the most visited places in the city. Recently it has become part of Austria’s Cultural Heritage. The building hosts today 53 private apartments and four offices, also there are 16 private terraces and three communal terraces.

This is one of the best places to take photos of Vienna and enjoy its skyline. So you get a close-up aerial perspective of the very heart of the city. We suggest visiting this place at sunset for the best moment of the day. Plan ahead your shot and book the tickets in advance, this place tends to be busy at all times.

The towers are on top of St. Stephen’s Church, within 67m high and 343 steps to the top, which is one of the highest points in the city. Note that the stairs are quite narrow and up it’s windy.

We have included Stephansdom Towers in the list of the best instagrammable places in Vienna because we just love it, however, it is not the best Vienna Instagram spot. Instead, if you are a photography enthusiast you will love this beautiful corner of Vienna, and also the ticket is not that expensive.

The courtyard hosts galleries, ceremonies and beautiful events, and it’s open to the public. How to get around Vienna

In the city centre of Vienna, Inner Stadt is almost totally walkable. However, where it is not, the walk paths are wide and there is not that much vehicle traffic around. Even the distance between the landmarks we have included in this guide of Vienna Instagram spots are fine by the city centre but needs you to take metro, train or bus to be reached, like Schönbrunn Palace.

Said that the public transport of Vienna works very well, and there are four ways to get around Vienna. You can take the subway, or metro system, the U-Bahn, the S-Bahn, which is the local train, the Tram and the bus. There are no ticket barriers at the stations, but the tickets can be bought at the ticket machines at the entrance or at the tram/bus stop.

Despite that, you might find it useful to get your hop-on-hop-off ticket for peace of mind and save some bucks. We found the single 2.30 euro ticket quite expensive compared to the beneficial unique ticket for the tourist bus.
