Split was so romantic, walking through the narrow alleys at night, filled with stories and legends. The secret to enjoying Split while on a romantic holiday in Croatia is to stay there for at least a few days. In fact, when most of the tourists leave the city or cruise shippers are back on their route, you can enjoy and feel the city even more.

We spent most of our time in Croatia in Split. Originally was only two days, a mid-point for our next stop in Istra. However, Split took our hearts, and we couldn’t resist staying for about a week. The promenade is fantastic at day and night. We walked hand in hand, relaxing at the bars on the Riva, watching the sea and the sunset. Another excellent spot for love birds in Split is Marjan Hill, the best viewpoint in the city. This vast park ends in a national park on the other side of the hill and a pristine beach frequented mainly by locals.

What a wonderful day exploring Rovinj. Can you believe that people go all the way from Venice to spend just a few hours roaming through the cobblestone alleys of this seaside village in Istria? Rovinj is romantic, poetic and unbelievably beautiful.
