Why visit Paris with your partner?

Europe is a dreamy continent for many; not everyone can experience the glamorous cities and visit the beautiful Rome, the romantic Paris, the fascinating Venice and Florence, and experience the frenetic life of London, Amsterdam and Berlin.

You should surprise your other half with a trip to Paris. The French Capital is one of the most romantic cities in Europe, perfect for exploring but also for living fully. Paris is also excellent for a workation in Europe, living the best life visiting the many landmarks once your work is done.

It is the centre of Europe, and you can move there for a few months to tour the continent, taking advantage of the cheap flights.

How to get around Paris

The best way to get around Paris is by using an efficient public transportation system. It’s relatively cheap and efficient, and it will allow you to see a lot of the city without walking long distances. If you’re planning on doing a lot of sightseeing, we recommend getting a Paris Visit pass which will give you unlimited access to the metro and buses.

METRO

The Paris metro is a fast and easy way to get around the city. It can be a bit confusing at first, but you’ll quickly get it. Also, we found the metro of Paris so romantic and inspiring. The style of the entrance is fantastic, but there are some architectural features that are unique and unmissable. The Metro system is wide and takes you through the arrondissement (the district of Paris). Check the Metro Map of Paris and discover some of the best metro stations.

BUS

Buses in Paris are a great way to see the city, especially if you’re planning on doing a lot of sightseeing. They’re also a good option if you’re trying to save money, as they’re typically cheaper than the metro.

Best time to visit Paris?

The best time to visit Paris is in the spring or fall – March to May or September to November. The weather is usually mild, and fewer tourists than in the summer. During this time, you’ll be able to enjoy all that the city has to offer more quickly. You will also save money on accommodation and flights.

However, suppose you’re looking to experience Paris during its busiest time. In that case, we recommend visiting in July or August since tourists flock to the city to enjoy the warm weather and long days. Even though, keep in mind that accommodation prices will be higher during these months.

Things to know before visiting Paris

HISTORY | The French capital, founded on almost two thousand years of history, rests on the banks of the Seine. From Gallic roots through Roman invasion, splendour, decadence, revolt, battle, occupation, freedom, and more are all covered.

CURRENCY | Paris is the Capital of France and is in the European Union and uses Euros as currency. Credit Cards and Debit Cards are accepted, and you may pay a fee to withdraw or pay.

IS EXPENSIVE | We found Paris excessively expensive, even though we live in London. Fantastic hotels, excellent locations for dinner or admire the view, as the rooftops these come at a high price even just for a drink.

SERVICE CHARGE | Coming from the US you might not be used to it, but in Europe, the Service Charge is included in your bill. Ask for a bill without service charge if you want to tip apart.

BAKERIES | Visiting Paris you will be attracted by the lovely French food. Don’t buy croissants, typical baguettes or bread from the chain store, but go to the local tiny bakeries. We loved our on a budget breakfast in Paris.

DON’T GAMBLE | It’s typical to see people gambling, especially around touristy places like the Eiffel Tower. Don’t stop by, they try to attract you. Run to a safe spot, as these are traps to snatch belongings from your pockets. They are really good.

LEARN FRENCH | In Paris, they tend to avoid speaking foreign languages, and learn a few words in French if you can.

SIM DATA | Coming from the UK we always have a problem with roaming, in this case, our smart idea is to purchase an eSim Mobile Data Plan. The revolutionary eSim allows us to stay always connected for 7 days at £10.
