Best time to visit Positano

Positano is worth visiting any time of the year. Yes, even in winter. Although, if you’re looking for the best time to visit Positano, we recommend May, September and early October. The temperatures are just perfect, not too hot or humid, and you can still enjoy all the “summer” activities.

Avoid travelling to Positano between June and August; it’s the high season, the temperature is scorching, and the town gets bustling between nearby locals from Naples and tourists. We visited Positano multiple times as it’s 1 hour away from our flat in Italy, and the worst time we’ve been there was in August.

Is Positano worth visiting?

Yes, absolutely, yes! Positano needs to be on everyone’s bucket list. It’s a fairytale town on the Amalfi Coast worth visiting. Thanks to its incredible and scenic views, instagrammable spots, romantic and delicious restaurants, and crystal blue water, Positano is a must!

There is no direct train to Positano and the Amalfi Coast, but you can take a local train, “Circumvesuviana”, from Napoli Centrale (Piazza Garibaldi). Within 1 hour, you reach Sorrento.
